Stylist Tina Chai Believes in ‘Skinny’ Shoes
Sep 23rd
New York Magazine’s “The Cut” sits down with Stylist Tina Chai and the result was simply marvelous!
Tina Chai originally intended to be a lawyer. But after slogging through an uninspiring stint as a paralegal, she traded contract filing for photo shoots, landing a job at Glamour, which paved the way to Vogue‘s hallowed halls, where she worked for nearly five years. After a decade as a freelance stylist, Chai has cultivated an array of clients, working for glossies like i-D, styling shows ranging from Band of Outsiders to Lela Rose, and consulting for such retail brands as Theory and LOFT.
But it’s the industry’s wide scope that she loves most. “One of the really amazing things about fashion is that it allows you to act out your fantasies,” she says. “I can be all the things I’m not: I can dress like a sailor, even though I get horribly sick at sea; I can wear something really sporty, even though I’m the most uncoordinated person on the planet.” In other words, she may not be a lawyer as she had once planned, but she can still dress the part (albeit in green Prada Mary Janes). Jourdan Dunn Back In Front of the Camera for Vogue & i-D
Jun 29th
Jourdan Dunn is the 19 year old high fashion model, who has graced the catwalk may times for such high fashion designers like Marc Jacobs & Polo Ralph Lauren, and was the first black model to walk a Prada runway in over a decade. However Dunn had recently taken a hiatus since giving birth to her first child last December amidst much controversy. However, save for a couple of times since giving birth last December, but she’s generally shied away from the camera, until now. It seems that she’s ready to start logging time on sets again: earlier this month, she was reportedly photographed for a September 2010 Vogue story that will also feature Stella Tennant and Liya Kebede, and today she was on set shooting a beauty story for i-D’s Fall 2010 issue (left).

Fendi or Just Plain Fake?
Most women want the real thing or nothing at all! And that includes designer bags!
The designer bag industry is one of the most pirated industries in fashion. The streets of New York are lined with imitation Louis Vuitton, Fendi, and Prada bags.
“According to the International Chamber of Commerce, counterfeiting makes up five to seven percent of global trade, or $450 to $500 billion. While any name brand is at risk for counterfeiting, the most commonly ripped-off labels include Louis Vuitton, Kate Spade, Christian Dior, Prada, Gucci and Burberry.”
